You Matter Too

February tends to send messages that it’s time to focus on romantic love, but one of the most important relationships is the one we have with ourselves.
The way we talk to ourselves matters more than we realize. It affects our confidence, how we handle stress, and how we bounce back when things don’t go as planned.

Most of us are way harder on ourselves than we would ever be to someone we care about. This Valentine’s season is a great time to start being a little gentler with yourself.

Try these tips:

1. Notice your inner voice: Pay attention to what you say to yourself when you are stressed, tired, or frustrated.
If you wouldn’t say it to a friend, don’t say it to yourself.

2. Kindness instead of criticism: When you mess up (because we all do!) tell yourself, “This is hard, and I am doing my best.” or “I can make a mistake, and still be a good person.”
This can make a big difference in how you recover and move forward.

3. Remember, no one is perfect: Feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure is part of being human.
You are not the only one who feels this way, even if it seems like it sometimes.

4. Build a tiny daily care habit: This could be taking a few slow breaths, stepping outside for fresh air, writing a few thoughts down, or just pausing for a moment.
Small, consistent care really adds up over time.

This month, choose one moment each day to practice one of these habits.  Think of it as giving yourself a little love this Valentine’s season.
