More About Lauren

This is my beautiful family. I know first hand about the hard work it takes to raise a family while also maintaining my personal well being

This is my beautiful family. As a working mom, I know first hand what it takes to raise a healthy family while also maintaining my personal well being.

Lauren Muriello, MA LPC is a licensed psychotherapist who has been helping children, families, couples, and individuals for over ten years. Lauren received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University, and completed her Masters Degree at Montclair State University where she received the Dean’s Leadership Award.

Lauren has extensive experience working with children and their families. In addition to her work with Well Being Therapy Center, Lauren has worked in the non-profit sector where she supervised Bergen County’s Family Preservation Services to assist families in crisis utilizing a short-term, intensive therapy model.

Previously, Lauren was Co-Director of Omega Teen Camp, a division of the Omega Institute (the nation’s largest holistic education center). In this role she worked with more than 200 staff and teens to ensure the program was successful in providing a safe and supportive environment for adolescents to successfully manage life challenges.
Much of the curriculum Lauren developed for Well Being Therapy Center teen groups, began with her work at Omega Teen Camp. The camp is now called Odyssey Teen Camp, and Lauren is proud to be an acting Board Member for the teen camp.

Lauren lives in Montville, NJ with her husband and their two beautiful children.

Family-Centered Approach to Working with Children & Teens
Having received extensive training in Structural Family Therapy, Lauren (and her staff) use this model to assist children and families to decrease stressors and symptoms. Many clients who have had little or no success with previous therapeutic experiences find the family-centered approach to be effective and extremely valuable, leading to not only short-term reduction of problems, but also long-term maintenance of their successes.
